Edward Blaise Bohan (1967-2026) was a beloved friend, brother, and partner. A gentle soul with a quiet but disarming wit, he was also the author of two plays that were produced in the 1990s. He went on to work at the New York Times for over 20 years, where he greatly enjoyed his colleagues. Over the last several years he was busy enjoying retirement and traveling with his partner of 35 years, David Noh. He was also excited to be writing again, pursuing a variety of creative pursuits. He was a passionate supporter of charity including the Annual AIDS walk in New York City.
Edward was born on Valentine’s Day in Gainesville, FL to Richard Timothy Bohan and Maryellen Bohan (née Blaisdell). After a childhood spent in the Midwest and then South Carolina, Edward made New York City (Manhattan) his home in his early 20s after receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing Communications from University of South Carolina.
Edward is predeceased by his parents Maryellen Blaisdell Bohan Shierling (R. Thomas Shierling), and Richard Timothy Bohan (Dianna Stone Bohan).
Edward is survived by his partner of 35 years, David Noh; sisters: Anne (Jim), Ellen (Valeria), Mary (Dan), Rose (Chris), step sisters; Pam (Bill), Susan (Keith), and Debbie; and nieces and nephews: Megan (Mitch), Jessie, Avery, Sally, Alex, and Charlie.
